Quantum Break coming to PC - DirectX 12 only - Screenshots - Specs

Today some previews have been released on the game that was intended for Xbox. The game received many praises for its complex story-line, game-play and graphics. Good news, it is now also confirmed that Quantum Break is coming to PC in April 2016, fully DirectX 12 compatible.

The date for release on PC would be April 4th and in addition to that, the system requirements have been posted. Quantum Break will be DirectX 12 only, and thus Windows 10 is mandatory. Interesting fact, the Quantum Break website explains that people who pre-order the digital version of Quantum Break for Xbox One will get a free copy of the Windows 10 edition.

"For a limited time, anyone who pre-orders the digital version of “Quantum Break” for Xbox One through the Xbox Store will receive the Windows 10 version of the game for free, downloadable at the Windows Store via redemption code. The pre-order offer also applies for those who redeem a digital code purchased from participating retailers or from the Xbox One Special Edition Quantum Break Bundle by April 4th, 2016."

Quantum Break is set at and around Riverport University, a fictional university set in the Northeastern United States, where a time travel experiment has gone wrong. The event not only causes time to start breaking down, but also grants the two main characters—Jack Joyce and Paul Serene—different time-based abilities. For example, Serene, the main antagonist, can see into the future to decide which choices to make in the present; while Joyce, one of the two protagonists, can stop time. Joyce and Wilder are pursued by Monarch Solutions, a corporation founded by Serene.

Players play as Jack Joyce, a person with time manipulation powers in a world where time stutters, making everything freeze except Joyce. Players can use a variety of firearms, as well as their time-manipulating powers to defeat enemies in the game. Joyce can stop time temporarily, allowing him to escape from attacks or freeze enemies, unleash a "Time Blast", which is an offensive projectile, and reverse the direction of bullets. He can also interact with the environments, creating environmental effects that would harm hostile characters. He can also utilize his "Time Rush" ability, which allows him to spawn right next to an enemy to perform an immediate melee takedown. In addition, players can speed up the time around him and swap between covers to diversify attention from unaware enemies. As for defensive abilities, Joyce can protect himself from attacks by deploying a "Time Shield", which can deflect bullets, performing "Time Dodge", which allows him to dash quickly to evade from attacks ] or simply hiding behind covers.

Yes, if nothing is released before it. Surprised it's a DX12 exclusive though.

DX12 only, about friggin' time if you ask me ;)

The recommended specs are pretty high GPUwise, 980 Ti or Fury X. Though could be due to the 6 GB VRAM, probably has some insane resolution textures (I hope).

Some of the game mechanics sound a lot like Dishonored. Sounds good to me.
