Taiwan-based company QNAP Systems announced the release of the large-capacity hybrid NAS, the TS-1655. This device features 16 hot-swap bays, including 12 bays for 3.5 inch HDDs and 4 bays for 2.5 inch SSDs, as well as two M.2 slots for cache SSDs.



The TS-1655 is equipped with Qtier technology, an automatic tiering system that optimizes storage areas based on access frequency and data type, enabling large-capacity and high-speed data transfer. Its main specifications include an Atom C5125 CPU with 8 cores and 2.8 GHz clock speed, 8 GB DDR4 memory (expandable up to 128 GB), 5 GB flash memory, and 2.5 Gigabit LAN x 2 network.

Additionally, the TS-1655 has three expansion slots for PCI Express 3.0 (x4) connections, with the option to expand with 10 gigabit or 25 gigabit LAN cards. It also includes USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A x 4 ports, a 550W power supply unit, and cooling fans of 92mm x 3 for the system and 97mm x 2 for the CPU. The device has dimensions of 369.89mm in width, 319.8mm in depth, 294.29mm in height, and a weight of 13.16kg.
