Ever since last night the popular anti-cheat protection service Punkbuster has been offline. This includes the Punkbuster servers, the evenbalance website, the Punkbuster websites and thus all logins and protections. Their website is down, their services are down and thus any affiliated games are down especially if you just needed an update. Word is that in gaming cyberspace it's a mayhem of wall-hacks / aim bots if you even can connect to a game. 

The problems must be huge as it is absolutely silent from evenbalance / Punkbuster so whether these are technical issues or server hacks or DDoS remains to be seen.

Some responses on the web from gamers:

• I keep getting kicked from MOHW server because my punkbuster is out of date. I tried going to their website and it seems to be down as well. Is any one else unable to access punkbuster.com and evenbalance.com
• Same Here im kicked after a few minutes message states @punkbuster out of date
• Looks like its a more systemic problem. All servers reading ping 99999 and empty on my system.

Small update - we just did some nslookups, and they seem to have emtpy DNS entries, meaning the DNS servers can not tie an IP towards their domain names. 

Update 2: they are back online again. no word or announcement as to what has happaned though.
