Problems TPM 2.0 and AMD - performance issues with both Windows 11 and 10?
Numerous people are reporting issues with AMD processors under Windows 11 and Windows 10 on forums and on Reddit. The reason be a TPM 2.0 being activated.
Since the beginning of October 2021, Windows 11 has been officially available and will be disseminated via Windows Update in various waves until possibly mid-2022 to all PCs with compatible hardware and a willingness to take advantage of the free update. However, some customers have reported performance concerns with AMD's Ryzen processors' L3 cache. In the meanwhile, AMD and Microsoft have addressed these issues via patches such as KB5006746. Now, AMD chip customers are reporting performance issues once again.
For instance, stuttering can occur, and some individuals experience audio issues as well. Along with Windows 11, Windows 10 is also plagued by these problems. These symptoms do not impact every PC user with an AMD processor. The issues arise seldom and last only a few seconds. Certain users assume that an activated TPM is to blame for the issues. The issues should go away if you disable "fTPM" in the UEFI BIOS.
Currently, only a limited number of users are impacted. At the moment, it is unknown why these issues occur. If you do not wish to experiment, you should wait for AMD and Microsoft to provide an official patch.

I have a TPM 2.0 module installed on my motherboard that I got for cheap just before the prices exploded in the WIn11 pre-launch. I am not experiencing any issues on my 5800X and Asus Prime X470 Pro motherboard.
