Memory prices have plummeted dramatically as of late, making this a potentially good time to update. Moreover, the latest DDR5 memory can be used with a cutting-edge AMD or Intel platform and is available at enticing pricing points.

The price of memory, especially DDR5, has dropped dramatically recently. In 2022, this dropped on the spot market by more than 40%. Meanwhile, the price of NAND flash wafers has dropped so low that suppliers can no longer profit. Because of this, memory prices in the market are decreasing significantly.

Some kits with 16 GB of DDR4-3200 are available with acceptable latency for 43 euros, and kits with 32 GB of capacity can be purchased for under 90 euros. Furthermore, the price of DDR5 memory has dropped dramatically. Kits with recommended DDR5-6000 CL36 memory start at €165 (when using AMD's EXPO) and €170 (when using Intel's XMP).
