Plextor Teases M9Pe NVMe SSD with Very Fast Performance
Plextor is set to release their M9Pe NVMe SSDs, and on it's Facebook page has been teasing the NVME drive drives with some photos and a CrystalDiskMark benchmark run. The results are impressive.
The M9Pe will be the successor to the M8Pe series and seems to be seriously fast, closing in and sometimes passing the Samsung 960 EVOand 960 PRO NVME SSD. The photos indicate that Plextor once again will release a regular M2 unit, then one with a heatsink, and also an M8Pe model that has been placed on a PCI-e Daughter board (add-in). Other then the photos reveal little of course.
You can expect reviews in the near future, here at Guru3D we already have been testing one unit, and the review is ready for publication once the embargo lifts.

"Very fast"
10 MB/s faster than my sm961nvme 1TB @ 4k random read QD=1
Way slower than my Intel Optane 900p @ 4k RR QD=1.
That still fits the definition of "very fast"...
You're being a bit facetious, even for my standards.

@nizzen
Which it is, vs other nvme ssds.
Just picking one number (especially when it is the hardest one to get improvements on) to compare drives? Right.
But that you wasted your money on an optane, already tells me a lot.

Can't wait to see the new batch of 2018 NVMe SSDs do battle.
I have my Asus m.2 X 16 waiting for 4 SSDs. I figure that the next round likely will have the last real advantage before everything eventually goes PCIe gen 4 based.
