I think it is safe to say that next week we'll see some Z590 announcements, the chipset that Intel would like you to pair with Rocket Lake processors. The very first premium motherboard froM Gigabyute just leaked by way of a photo.

Z590 Aorus Xtreme will become a high-end motherboard. The power delivery has been upgraded; it has 20+1 phases, compared to the 16+1 of the Z490 version. Network options have also been improved. In addition to the standard 2.5 Gb Ethernet port, the Z590 Aorus Xtreme is equipped with an extra port with 5 Gigabit speeds. While the Z490 model has WiFi 6, its successor uses WiFi 6e.

The reveals three PCIe x16 expansion slots, two of with PCIe 4.0 compatibility. This is also the case with two of the three m.2 slots present. The board requires an Intel Rocket Lake processor to take advantage of PCIe Gen 4.0.

Komachi leaked the photo towards Videocardz, the lineup would be completed with the Z590 Aorus Master, Aorus Pro AX and Z590I Aorus Ultra. There should also be several neutral Vision variants. The Twitter user does not know how much the new boards will cost. The Z490 Aorus Xtreme can currently be found in the price comparator for about 380 euros. Given the additional options, it is more likely that the new variant will get a higher price.

There might be some use in the near future for two PCIe x8.
Basically directx 12 supports multigpu without need of sli bridge and profiles.

While games are picking up slow on this for now, some 3d render apps benefit really nice from it.
2 x 3070 is like having 10 5900x at render.

Plus models like this are rare anyway, you got plenty to choose if you aim to have a single card.

no, they don't.

Of course they do.
