Philips Releases 27-inch AMVA Display
Philips is launching a new 27-inch monitor equipped with an AMVA (Advanced Multi-domain Vertical Alignment) panel (Model: 271P4QPJKEB/00). The 27-inch AMVA display features a W-LED backlight, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, 178/178 degree viewing angles, a 6ms (GtG) response time, a 300 cd/m2 brightness level and a 5,000:1 contrast ratio (20,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio.
The Philips 271P4QPJKEB/00 also provides two built-in 2 Watts speakers, a 3-port USB 2.0 hub, a 2.0-megapixel camera, D-Sub, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort. What makes this AMVA display interesting is that it has a “people sensor”, which automatically lowers brightness level when the user is not in front of the display. The Philips 27-inch AMVA display is priced at €400 ($517).

The 24" version already got a GOOD rating at Prad.de, so I expect this one to either be good as well. They'll probably test this one in a couple of weeks or months or so. For some reason they won't translate the Philips reviews in English.
