Philips outs 499P9H with SuperWide display
MMD, a brand license partner for Philips monitors, is launching the all-new Philips 499P9H Brilliance 32:9 SuperWide curved LCD display.
Amsterdam, 29 January 2019 – MMD, the leading display specialist and brand license partner for Philips monitors, is launching the all-new Philips 499P9H Brilliance 32:9 SuperWide curved LCD display. This award-winning 49” (48.8" / 124 cm diag.) monitor provides professional users with a treasure trove of performance-enhancing features to make every minute they spend working more efficient, more productive, and more enjoyable. Equipped with an expansive 32:9 SuperWide screen and ultra-high resolution, the Philips 499P9H delivers eye-popping graphics on a luxuriously large format that is the equivalent of two full-size monitors, making it the ideal alternative to a double 27” Quad HD set-up. Featuring convenient USB-C docking, which offers the benefit of high-speed data transfer and flexible connectivity, as well as a pop-up webcam and environmentally-friendly design, this monitor has it all.
The Philips 499P9H has been designed for the modern professional
Wall-to-wall workspace
The Philips 499P9H knows how to make an impression. Its mammoth format is an award-winning feat of modern design with an 1800r curved display that mirrors the natural shape of the eye and subtly wraps around the user, minimising distractions while maximising comfort. Moreover, this monitor’s beauty is far more than skin deep, for its great width endows it with an exceptional capacity to heighten productivity. Gone is the need for complicated multi-screen set-ups with their pesky separating gap and messy cables. Instead, the 499P9H provides 49 stunning inches of workspace, just like having two 27" 16:9 Quad HD displays placed side-by-side. This allows users to spread out, compare documents, or handle multiple files at once without having to stack windows, scroll, or zoom. And to accommodate additional set-up scenarios, a built-in MultiClient Integrated KVM switch works with the Multi-View function to allow users to manage two separate devices at the same time with a single keyboard and mouse, saving even more time and space.
An engaging visual experience
With such a large screen, high-performance image quality is a must. Here as well, the Philips 499P9H stands out from the crowd. Dual Quad HD (5120 x 1440) resolution means higher pixel density and greater detail, while VESA-certified HDR 400 technology provides dazzling colours, inky shadows, and sparkling whites, bringing images to life and ensuring optimal depth and nuance. For an almost-complete field view, Philips’ VA LED display relies on an advanced vertical alignment technology that delivers high static contrast ratios, resulting in crisp images from any viewing angle. CAD and graphic designers, architects, engineers, photographers, and all other professionals who require pixel-perfect precision and colour accuracy will be well served by this monitor.
Designed for the modern professional
With the modern workplace requiring ever-greater flexibility, dynamism, and adaptability, today’s professionals need hardware that can keep up. The Philips 499P9H meets this need with an array of innovative features that help users get the most out of their workday. A built-in USB 3.1 type-C docking station with power delivery plays a key role in boosting productivity for professionals on the go. With high-speed USB 3.1 technology, data transfer is faster, and the reversible USB-C connector allows for easy, one-cable docking. Peripherals as well as notebooks may be plugged directly into the monitor to transfer files, watch videos, and more. And to complete the docking experience, a secure wired connection can be provided to notebooks without any separate cable thanks to the monitor’s built-in RJ45 port. For further convenience and security, the monitor includes a handy pop-up webcam equipped with Windows HelloTM facial recognition, which can be discretely and securely tucked away when not in use. And because user comfort is always a priority, the Philips 499P9H monitor offers users a multitude of visualisation solutions including Flicker-Free technology and LowBlue Mode, as well as effective ergonomic features such as a height-adjustable stand with swivel and tilt functions and a VESA mount.
The Philips 499P9H is available with an RRP of £989.00

Ultra wide monitors are awesome for gaming but super wide is an overkill.
