Philips launches 258B6QJEB WHQD AH-IPS monitor

This latest Philips 25" screen deliver Crystalclear, Quad HD 2560x1440 pixel images. Utilizing high performance panels with high density pixel count, enabled by high bandwidth sources like Displayport, HDMI, Dual link DVI, these new displays will make your images and graphics come alive.

Whether you are demanding professional requiring extremely detailed information for CAD-CAM solutions, using 3D graphic applications or a financial wizard working on huge spreadsheets, Philips displays will give you Crystalclear images.

This latest Philips display uses advanced AH-IPS panels resulting in superior colour reproduction, response time and power consumption. Unlike standard TN panels, AH-IPS panels show consistent colour even at 178 degrees wide angles and in pivot mode. martImage is an exclusive leading edge Philips technology that analyses the content displayed on your screen and gives you optimised display performance. This user friendly interface allows you to select various modes like Office, Photo, Movie, Game, Economy etc., to fit the application in use. Based on the selection, SmartImage dynamically optimises the contrast, colour saturation and sharpness of images and videos for ultimate display performance. The Economy mode option offers you major power savings. uper Speed USB 3.0 deploys 5.0 gbit/s transfer rate, which is about 10 times faster than USB 2.0 standard significantly reducing data transfer time saving you time and money. With more bandwidth, super speed transfer rates, better power management and superior overall performance, USB 3.0 sets the latest global standard allowing you to use the large capacity storage devices. Sync-N-Go technology ensures you don't have to wait anymore for bandwidth to be freed up.

The screen is based on W-LED (WLED just means a white LED. It's the standard LED in LED-backed displays). illuminated AH-IPS screen has a 5ms resonse time and 350 cd/m² maximum brightness. It has a 4-port USB hub (two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports). Sales price should hover in the sub 399 euro range.

I wish companies would just release a 4k monitor with 120-144hz refresh. All these inbetweener make-do monitors are a real drag.

Its surprising how long we were/are stuck with low Hz monitors, while we had high Hz CRTs decades ago.

I wish they would bump it to at least 75hz to make it more comfortable on the eyes.

There's close to no demand for those, so they aren't considered to be that important target for research and sales.

CRTs needed high refresh rates not to expose flicker, and despite that it was difficult to find a reliable 1600x1200@100Hz one (I think I'll have to fix my good old EIZO T965 sitting in a corner)

What? The pixels are always on, they don't flicker. It's easy on your eyes regardless of the internal refresh rate.
