Philips has launched an innovative monitor, the 24B1D5600, which features an E Ink display attached to its right side. The primary display is a 23.8-inch IPS panel with a 2560 x 1440 resolution, 75 Hz refresh rate, and a standard IPS contrast ratio of 1000:1.

The monitor also includes a built-in docking station for notebooks, offering a USB-C input that supports USB PD 3.0 up to 90 W and a Gigabit Ethernet port. Additional connectivity options include a DP 1.2 input, a four-port USB Type-A hub, and an audio output. The attached E Ink display measures 13.3 inches and has a resolution of 1200 x 1600 pixels. This secondary display is connected to the main display through hinges, allowing it to be angled up to 45 degrees towards the primary display.

The E Ink display requires a separate USB-C input but supports DP Alt mode and can deliver 15 W of power to a connected device. Though first unveiled at CES 2022, Philips took some time to bring the 24B1D5600 to market. However, the monitor has been available for purchase in Asia for several months at a price of around USD 620 (excluding VAT).
