Philips Adds 349X7FJEW Monitor in their Curved Range
MMD, license partner for Philips monitors, enriches its growing line-up of curved displays with a new addition: along with its 1800R curvature for an immersive viewing experience, the new 34-inch 349X7FJEW display is designed in an UltraWide 21:9 format, giving users plenty of room to multitask.
The CrystalClear Quad HD resolution ensures total clarity of reproduction with fine detail, which is particularly beneficial when MultiView is used to display large volumes of information on the screen simultaneously. The display is designed for easy adjustability for users to tilt the screen and adjust the height exactly to their preferences and fully enjoy the viewing experience.
“We aim to bring the benefits of curved displays – the focus, the immersion effect – to as many users as possible,” says Artem Khomenko, Product Manager Philips monitors Europe at MMD. “The 34-inch model is the latest in a comprehensive line-up that we are bringing to market this year. It’s part of our commitment to offering displays that empower people to do more and be more enjoyably productive: with wide, beautiful monitors that are inspired by the world around us.”
The perfect monitor to mix business and pleasure
With the 1800R curvature, users of this new X Line curved display can look forward to a highly immersive experience, with an even better focus on activities in environments such as the home where there is likely to be a lot of distraction. Users can focus more easily on what they are doing, for example watching a film, touching up photos, creating their own videos or doing after-hours work on spreadsheets and documents. Particularly with detail-rich tasks, the curved display promotes concentration by creating an increased perception of depth, with more personal space.
Inside that personal viewing space, users have all the performance they need to enjoy activities for longer. With an UltraWide Quad HD resolution and a panoramic 21:9 format, the display provides generous screen real estate with 3440 x 1440 pixels: that means more pixels to show images with, and – perfect for a display that is great at mixing business with pleasure – more space for users to multitask when they want to keep tabs on office mail, check documents and closely follow a live sports match, all at the same time, all with perfect clarity and sharpness. Videography is also brilliant: the screen is wide enough to view the entire timeline at once, and the 117.3 % (CIE1931) sRGB colour gamut ensures that keen photographers and video-makers will enjoy great colour reproduction. Thanks to AMD FreeSync™ technology, video playback is super-smooth, with no stuttering, tearing or motion blur.
Because looks also do matter in a display, the 349X7FJEW is created with special attention to design. The edge-to-edge screen (apart from maximising viewing space) gives the monitor a sleek appearance, which is complemented by the subtle curves and chrome and gloss finish. This display is created not only with functionality, but also with elegance in mind.
Developed for comfort and well-being
The latest 34-inch curved X Line monitor is thoughtfully engineered with features striving to make people’s lives easier and more convenient.
The display is height and tilt adjustable, so users can position the curved viewing area optimally at their line of vision, allowing users to avoid an uncomfortable and unhealthy posture while seated.
The 349X7FJEW is also equipped with the LowBlue Mode setting. Studies have shown that just as ultra-violet rays can cause eye damage; shortwave length blue light rays from LED displays can equally cause eye damage and affect vision over time. Developed for wellbeing, Philips LowBlue Mode setting uses a smart software technology to reduce harmful shortwave blue light.
Multitasking is a common practice nowadays. With this monitor, instead of needing two screens to monitor two systems simultaneously, users can enjoy streaming input from two systems to the same widescreen monitor: Philips MultiView makes this possible. The screen can either be tiled into two equal sections, or one of the feeds can be displayed in picture-in-picture (PiP) format. Users can thus keep an eye on a live news or sports feed, for instance, while working on documents.
There is also no need for a separate USB hub on the desk: multiple devices can be connected to the integrated hub, reducing cabling and leaving notebook USB connections free for quick access. The monitor can also be used for fast charging of USB-connected devices.
The new Philips 349X7FJEW X Line display, with an RRP of £759, will be available in April 2017.
