Philips 258B6QJEB Monitor has 25-inch 2560 x 1440 IPS Panel

We mentioned this one before, it however now is available in stores. Philips added a new AH-IPS based WHQD 2560 x 1440 resolution 25" display to their product series, it is called 258B6QJEB. Wouldn't it be nice to see manufacturers use simple names for monitors ?

It has an AH-IPS panel with a 5ms G2G response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness, 178/178 viewing angles and 16.7m colour depth. W-LED backlight based it offer a standard sRGB gamut, as tftcentral reports:

DisplayPort, HDMI, DL-DVI and VGA connections are provided. Moreover, the monitor has built-in stereo speakers for multimedia and 2x USB 3.0 / 2x USB 2.0 ports for fast data transfers and smart phone charging. The screen is also advertised as flicker free which is positive news. A full range of ergonomic adjustments are offered from the stand with tilt, height, swivel and rotate all accounted for. The new Philips display should be available now at a price of £ 289 GBP.

This latest Philips display uses advanced AH-IPS panels resulting in superior colour reproduction, response time and power consumption. Unlike standard TN panels, AH-IPS panels show consistent colour even at 178 degrees wide angles and in pivot mode. martImage is an exclusive leading edge Philips technology that analyses the content displayed on your screen and gives you optimised display performance. This user friendly interface allows you to select various modes like Office, Photo, Movie, Game, Economy etc., to fit the application in use. Based on the selection, SmartImage dynamically optimises the contrast, colour saturation and sharpness of images and videos for ultimate display performance. The Economy mode option offers you major power savings. uper Speed USB 3.0 deploys 5.0 gbit/s transfer rate, which is about 10 times faster than USB 2.0 standard significantly reducing data transfer time saving you time and money. With more bandwidth, super speed transfer rates, better power management and superior overall performance, USB 3.0 sets the latest global standard allowing you to use the large capacity storage devices. Sync-N-Go technology ensures you don't have to wait anymore for bandwidth to be freed up.

The screen is based on W-LED (WLED just means a white LED. It's the standard LED in LED-backed displays). illuminated AH-IPS screen has a 5ms resonse time and 350 cd/m² maximum brightness. It has a 4-port USB hub (two USB 3.0 and two USB 2.0 ports). Sales price should hover in the sub 399 euro range.
