It remains to be pure speculation, but when you think about it, it does make sense.  NVIDIA's next generation of graphics cards, known as the Ada Lovelace or RTX 40 series, was set to be released in October.

According to Moore's Law Is Dead's sources, the bulk of RTX 4000 GPUs were intended to be released in October, but that date may now be pushed out to late Q4 in December. This is not to say that Nvidia will not announce and ship cards like the RTX 4090 before then, but you may have to wait until then.

Retailers are noticing decreased demand since the market for secondhand GPUs is flooded with machines used for cryptocurrency mining, and the recent cryptocurrency market slump has aided the problem. NVIDIA may announce Ada Lovelace GPUs in October, and they may be available for purchase in December. Of all, these are only the most recent industry speculations. We'll have to wait and watch how the market and NVIDIA respond.

It's unclear how much further Nvidia can delay the RTX 4000. If at all possible, the business does not want to give AMD's RDNA 3 graphics cards a head start. Meanwhile, the next few months may be the greatest time to save money on a gaming PC update, as prices continue to fall and show no signs of slowing.
