Overclockers clock Core i7 965 easily to 4,2 GHz

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 10/13/2008 08:58 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

Some Taiwanese overclockers had a 3,2 GHz Core i7 processor (Nehalem) in their possession  . And by simply raising the multiplier towards 21 and the core voltage towards 1,72V they clocked the processor towards 4,2 GHz.

That surely doesn't suck. Unclear with what graphics card they tested it, but a 3Dmark vantage score of P25395 surely didn't suck either.
