Overclocker gets AMD Threadripper 3990X Running 5.3 GHZ on all 64-core (LN2)

Overclocker gets AMD Threadripper 3990X Running 5.3 GHZ on all 64-core (LN2)

Wowzers, get ready for the world's faster Cinebench run, overclockers by the name of Tsalk and Splave put some LN2 on the 3990X and started overclocking. The result 5.3 GHz on all cores, and also 5.5 GHz on a single core.

The processor we reviewed last Friday appear to clock quite well when sub-zero cooled. The 5.55 GHz from Tsaik is for a single core, he used a single ddr4 module that ran on ddr4-1866 with CL13 timings. The motherboard used was an MSI TRX40 Creator. Splave on his end achieved 5.3 GHz on all cores with a TRX40 Taichi from ASRock,32 GB G.Skill's Trident Z Neo ddr4-3200 memory at CL11 timings. As you have seen in our review, power consumption at high clocks is pretty crazy, they used two power supplies of 1250 watts

All this resulted in a score of 39,518 in the multithreaded test of Cinebench R20. In our own test, the 3990X achieved 24,608 points.

Only this kit F4-3200C14D-16GFX should be the only B-die in the flare x.

Any specific guide/suggestion?Dram voltage with my B-die can do CL 11 3200Mhz.I do have a 80MM fan point at my Ram to keep them cool. I have B-die 4000 kit so it is much easier to do.I have went down to CL10 on various Ram speed and do not know the actual limit because I did not need to go lower.

I never seen the need for LN2 but I bet it is a whole bunch of fun.

And yes, I cant even understamd how that CPU can take 1kw of power. My kitchen cooking pot has 1kw but is much bigger and very stupid compared to CPU
Materials behave quite differently at cryogenic temperatures than at normal/hot ones (over 50 C).
Superconductivity is not a myth ;-)

Oh yes I am aware that they have it. For bragging rights between companies ofc, publicity and you never know who buys a Kingpin card over a normal one e.g.
Doesn't change much about what I wrote though but you are right :)

Yeah no lol If you think it's all for bragging rights and to try and get someone to spend more money on a KP or a HOF then you're wrong. A lot of very talented overclockers have helped in more ways than you seem to know with products, hell not even just in house ones. More than a few have helped with testing BIOS's before products have been released, memory overclocking etc But yes overclockers have been used by manufacturers in the past for that reason though, not to say all overclockers in those privileged positions have taken the piss themselves a couple certainly have.
