At the GDC 2023, CD Projekt RED announced that the much-anticipated RTX Path Tracing Overdrive Mode for Cyberpunk 2077 will launch on April 11th as a part of the Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.62.

This update promises several improvements, including RTX Path Tracing and better ray tracing performance, along with possible general gameplay improvements.

While the details of the Cyberpunk 2077 Update 1.62 have not yet been revealed, CD Projekt RED did discuss path-traced features at the "Cyberpunk 2077' RT: Overdrive - Bringing Path Tracing into the Night City (Presented by NVIDIA)" GDC 2023 session. Additionally, CD Projekt RED and NVIDIA have revealed some of the updates coming with the RT Overdrive Mode, including support for Shader Execution Ordering (SER), which optimizes GPU workloads for efficient path-traced lighting.

The RTX Path Tracing Overdrive Mode and SER updates will only be available on NVIDIA Ada Lovelace GPUs. However, CD Projekt RED has not released any new trailers to showcase the RTX Path Tracing feature. Fans are eagerly awaiting the update to experience the gameplay and most of all, lacking performance?
