OCZ Vertex 4 Solid State Drive spotted at CeBIT

by Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 03/07/2012 08:51 AM | source: | 0 comment(s)

The Vertex 4 SSD is spotted at CeBIT, the SSD storage unit is no longer based on a SandForce controller but rather on around the Indilinx Everest 2 controller. The SSD is equipped with synchronous MLC NAND Flash and will be capable of transfers speeds up-to 550 MB/sec with a dazzling 90K IOPS.

The model shown at CeBIT is showing an AS SSD run at 367/305 MB/s RW and up to 80,000 IOPS for 4k random reads for now though. It's going to be an interesting SSD series alright.
