NVIDIA Teases Heavily in Riddle Video - Deciphered - it is GeForce GTX 2080

NVIDIA Teases Heavily in Riddle Video - Deciphered - it is GeForce GTX 2080

NVIDIA has released a viral video, a bit of a teaser called 'be for the game'. If you look deeper and closer at the video it is FILLED with hints, and unofficially, it reveals the name of the to be released graphics card to be the GeForce GTX or RTX 2080.

So if you look at the video you can see a number of chat sessions, look at the names and deduct / extract the info to get to the hints which were deciphered mostly at Reddit. The RTX versus GTX naming thingsremains a question mark. I can only assume that Nvidia would want to stick to GTX as it is such a strong gaming brand. However, with a move towards Raytracing support, RTX might be viable and is in line with some rumors. Then again NVIDIA could also use GTX for gaming and RTX for the Quadro professional series. Anyhow, have a peek as it definitely is 2080 being released based on Turing architecture.

  • One of the chat session is RoyTeX = RTX = Ray Tracing technology
  • Not_11 = clearly not 11 .. ergo it is not GeForce GTX 1180
  • Eating, gimme 20 ...
  • Mac-20 = 20 Series ... hints towards the 20 series
  • Eight-Tee = 80 ... GTX 2080
  • AlanaT = I love this one, Alan Turing.
  • Zenith20 = They name 20 series
  • Ray = Ray tracing
  • GPS coordinates: “50.968495,7.014026” points to Cologne (Gamescom)
  • Rolling date numbers seems to be 2,0,8,0
  • Music in the background shouts 'i am coming' repeatedly. Which obviously refers to the pending launch.

People are also discussing the heatpipe and a possible hint of a dual-fan based cooler, something we already discussed earlier here. Have a peek at the riddled video. If you look at the first few seconds of the video, you can see a new design and a new backplate before they switch towards a GTX 1080. Thanks, EL1TE for the lead. If you guys find some more stuff, let us know here in the forums.

Ive been thinking about get a new video card. The reason Im still thinking is because I play 1 game and that is the best game and graphics and engine ever. Unreal Tournament pre alpha. Anyhow I get 60fps at all times never drops. My CPU usage is avg 8 percent begging for a new card. Now the thing is with a new card I can play at 1440p unless it's a 1060 GTX, I don't know if that can handle it. So higher resolution, more AA and FXAA I need a HDR card is another reason to get a new card. OH FYI that constant 60fps drops like mad to 40's and messing things up. If and only if I turn up the graphic settings from high to EPIC ,,,,, then the 60fps falls to 55fps I can feel it its nasty and jerky then 40's and messes up my game. So I need a card thats gonna stick to 60fps never drop no matter all high settings are EPIC. On top of this I wan't to play at 1440p. This card game wise is for Unreal Tournament. Do I wait until next month and buy a 1180 for 750 bucks or buy a 1060 320 bucks. If I buy the 1060 I save 400+ bucks. I can then put that 400 bucks to use and sell the 1060 and get a 1180. Or stick with 1060 until 2080 comes out, which is when I don't know. gb

or you can buy a 1060 and save for 2080ti

And yes it's going to be gtx 20, i fucking knew it, come on, it's common sense, even huawei skiped 11 and went 20 with the p20 series, succesor of the p10 series, normies will even think it's so advanced they skiped 10 generations and they will sell a lot.

i don't know man, the message was super clear to me, the 20 was like referenced in all the video, they explicitly animated the 20 in the date "20th august 2018"

Yeah but you don't know what models they're gonna show. Could just be the flagship 2080 and we may not know anything about the mid/lower range cards for months.
