NVIDIA Teases Heavily in Riddle Video - Deciphered - it is GeForce GTX 2080
NVIDIA has released a viral video, a bit of a teaser called 'be for the game'. If you look deeper and closer at the video it is FILLED with hints, and unofficially, it reveals the name of the to be released graphics card to be the GeForce GTX or RTX 2080.
So if you look at the video you can see a number of chat sessions, look at the names and deduct / extract the info to get to the hints which were deciphered mostly at Reddit. The RTX versus GTX naming thingsremains a question mark. I can only assume that Nvidia would want to stick to GTX as it is such a strong gaming brand. However, with a move towards Raytracing support, RTX might be viable and is in line with some rumors. Then again NVIDIA could also use GTX for gaming and RTX for the Quadro professional series. Anyhow, have a peek as it definitely is 2080 being released based on Turing architecture.
- One of the chat session is RoyTeX = RTX = Ray Tracing technology
- Not_11 = clearly not 11 .. ergo it is not GeForce GTX 1180
- Eating, gimme 20 ...
- Mac-20 = 20 Series ... hints towards the 20 series
- Eight-Tee = 80 ... GTX 2080
- AlanaT = I love this one, Alan Turing.
- Zenith20 = They name 20 series
- Ray = Ray tracing
- GPS coordinates: “50.968495,7.014026” points to Cologne (Gamescom)
- Rolling date numbers seems to be 2,0,8,0
- Music in the background shouts 'i am coming' repeatedly. Which obviously refers to the pending launch.
People are also discussing the heatpipe and a possible hint of a dual-fan based cooler, something we already discussed earlier here. Have a peek at the riddled video. If you look at the first few seconds of the video, you can see a new design and a new backplate before they switch towards a GTX 1080. Thanks, EL1TE for the lead. If you guys find some more stuff, let us know here in the forums.

Looking at leaked specs, these new cards will be positioned between Pascal ones. 2080 performance between 1080 and 1080ti. 2018ti 15-20 % faster than 1080ti, and the price will reflect that.
I expect those TI's to cost 1000 Euros and 2080 850-900 Euros.
Node reduction is not drastic, die size is bigger with worst yield and GDDR6 will costs more, and on top of that, there's no competition from AMD, so prices will be insane.
Better prices will be for midrange. Expect AMD prices to come down.

Zotac 2080Ti AMP!
Good luck with that.
First clue to initial low availability. I'm sure quite a few eager early buyers who will snap them up.
