The RTX 4080, which will be released next month, will not only be significantly less in terms of pricing, but also in terms of performance. This is according to Nvidia's own benchmarks.

Nvidia examines the performance of the new and previous generations in three games, evaluated on a Core i9-12900K at 4K resolution and once with and once without DLSS. The two RTX 4080 versions differ vastly from the super fast flagship RTX 4090 (test).

In the game A Plague Tale: Requiem, an RTX 4080 with 12 GB is just 11% quicker than an RTX 3080 when DLSS is OFF. The advantage is 22 per cent in Microsoft Flight Simulator and 25 percent in F1 22, the only game that uses ray tracing. Only with DLSS enabled does the RTX 4080 12 GB outperform an RTX 3090 Ti in all three titles.

The RTX 4080 with 16 GB operates 24 to 30 percent quicker than the sister model with 12 GB, depending on the game.
