NVIDIA Releases Kepler GPU Security Update 473.47 WHQL Driver

NVIDIA's Kepler family of 28 nm graphics cards debuted in 2012. NVIDIA's 470 driver class was the latest to support architecture. NVIDIA released a 473.47 WHQL driver that fixes numerous CVE vulnerabilities that can cause a denial of service, information exposure, or data tampering.

This driver version includes no fixes and no new features outside vulnerability fixes. NVIDIA has patched Kepler GPU CVEs rated 4.1 to 8.5. The 473.47 WHQL driver poses a high risk of code execution, denial of service, privilege escalation, information exposure, and data tampering. NVIDIA plans to cease support for Kepler architecture in 2024. Cards like GT600, GT700, GTX600, GTX700, Titan, Titan Black, and Titan Z are supported.

Grab them here.

Cool, I recently had to use my museum MSI 680 Lightning for 2 weeks while my (second) dead 3080 Ti was in RMA... I was surprised it was still turning on to be honest.

One of my old boxes that still runs 24/7 has my old ELSA Geforce 256 in it. Old Nvidia cards are made with 0.5ozs of Lazarus and 0.1ozs of Zombie. The old cards just do not die. I have a box full of old video cards dating back to the Matrox era (talking 32bit PCI - not PCI-e) and they always work when I pull one out for testing something. The 600 series cards were pretty hardy cards.
