Nvidia lowers GeForce GTX 1080 Price with 100 USD
At GDC 2017 Nvidia just announced that the price of the GeForce GTX 1080 has been dropped with $ 100 (effective immediately) down to $ 499.
We are not sure if the prices take effect worldwide right away as well but it looks like it as prices for the cheapest model right now hoevers in the €639 range but thus should be €569 range. Nvidia stated nothing on prices of other series 10 GeForce cards like the GTX 1060 and 1070. Considering the 1070 is occupying that price bracket, it should drop in price as well.

I am still waiting for 1080gtx hitting $499. Nothing on newegg is even close to that price unless you like refurbished.

I just noticed the cheaper ones are not new.
It doesn't look like Newegg have dropped the prices then, as here in the UK they are down to the equivalent of $490.

For the money, I'd argue that Nvidia shows more performance increases than Intel. On the other hand, I feel CPU's last longer than GPU.
