NVIDIA GTX 1070 Ti 3DMark Benchmark Results

NVIDIA GTX 1070 Ti 3DMark Benchmark Results

We talked about the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti for numerous times now, it was bound to happen as the first 3DMark results have arrived of the product. Benchmark results for the GTX 1070 Ti for 3DMark Fire Strike Extreme and Time Spy.

According to this early rsult set the card beats the AMD's Radeon RX Vega 56 in the Time Spy benchmark which kind of is the point for this product. In Strike Extreme the two are tight and close together. The results sets have been spotted by videocardz. It will be intersting to see what the AIB partners have to offer with the custom models, clock frequencies and final drivers.

I have added the fastest GPU score result set into the mix of our own charts, for a bit of comparison and overview. That pretty much will paint the pictures and seems spot on really. you can also really tell what Nvidia has been aiming for, a product that trumps the Vega 56. Below you can click and check the result sets from videocardz.

My msi 1070 runs extreme with a score of 8722 (OVERCLOCKED THOUGH)on an old 1155 2700k ,never upgraded from 1155 as no point as already running better than the Ti and vanilla 1080 and yes timespy should run max clock as mine shows 2060mhz on gpu in afterburner in all tests apart from cpu only tests. if yours isnt something may be wrong try fresh driver install...

http://www.3dmark.com/fs/13897890 mine is close but looks like your system benifits from hyperthreading giving your phyx a hugh boost
It looks like we're all roughly in the same score for GTX 1070 overclocked on Firestrike Extreme - here's mine just now:

And Timespy for good measure:

Only 3% off GTX 1070ti, although GTX 1070ti not overclocked, of course not worth the upgrade from GTX 1070.

If they are low on 1080 stock, I could see a software fix to OC ..... otherwise an OCed 1070ti just eats into the 1080 sales.

They might not mind much it eating into GTX 1080 sales, perhaps the GTX 1070ti has larger profit margins for them at the moment - perhaps at the moment production favours the slightly reduced core count of the GTX 1070ti and GDDR5 over GDDR5X.

@The Goose
Even if that doesn't boost as high out of the box, it still has "more" hardware (cores/rop etc) that you won't be able to make up for by oc a 1070 alone.

I tested both 1060 as 3 and as 6gb and even that the 3gb boosts about 200mhz higher, its still not enough to make up for the missing cores.
And its way closer in total count, than the 1070 is to the ti...

Not talking about the fact you most likely won't be able to sell it for what you paid for it..

How can you force an OC (clock) cap, assuming it's made on software level not hardware? If that's the case, a Flash should remove it?

All in all it beats Vega 56, so I guess that was its main purpose.
Yeah, they just couldn't stand Vega56 was faster than the 1070 (even after nearly 1,5 year) so they made a card that is a bit faster than the Vega56. Why would they make a 1060Ti, which would be a 100 times reasonable, as there is double gap until the 1070 than bw the 1070 and 1080. Lolvidia.

Don't forget that there will be no reference 1070Ti, so this should be an AIB model, meaning that a 1070 custom is faster than 5699 TimeSpy points.

Also, the other results also show (Firestrike and AotS results)it will be exactly halfway through the ref 1070 and 1080, meaning that in the target resolution, 1440P, will be about 2-3% faster than the Vega56, and may be on par with it in 4K.

There was no reason to make the 1070Ti. Having a 1070 OCd can achieve what the 1070Ti can.
