Nvidia has launched a new public beta of their GRID Cloud Gaming Service that will stream games up to 1080p at 60 frames per second. GRID is now streaming at the same resolution as Blu-ray movies at a 60fps.

GRID is available free for SHIELD owners until 30 June, 2015. From today, at least 35 of those games will be able to stream up to 1080p60, including Batman: Arkham Origins, GRID 2, and Ultra Street Fighter 4, without increasing latency. To help with the increased server load, Nvidia is launching new Grid data centres in the US, Europe, and Asia later this year.

GRID is available exclusively to SHIELD owners and you can access GRID directly inside the SHIELD Hub application. Connect your SHIELD device to a 1080p TV in console mode and download the SHIELD Hub Beta app to access 1080p60 streaming. Further details in the attached doc.

To stream games at 1080p60, Nvidia recommends a minimum 30 Mbps Internet download speed and a SHIELD Ready router. GRID’s built-in network test will automatically determine if you have the capability to stream at 1080p60.
