NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 tested in benchmark; 60% faster than RTX 3090 Ti

In regular tests, we do not know how much quicker the RTX 4090 can be than the RTX 3090 Ti. As it turns out, the card was previously evaluated with the Geekbench CUDA benchmark, with the GPU scoring an fantastic 42K points

This means the RTX 4090 is 1.6x quicker than the RTX 3090 Ti and 1.8x faster than the RTX 3090, that's excluding DLSS etc. That is a vast improvement for just this type of test. We cannot, of course, put this performance into gameplay. NVIDIA's RTX 4090 GPU will be available on October 12th.

What beautifull times to be around ! 1600EUR/USD for a video card ... dusting off my Series X that was 499EUR (entire system with bells and whistles)... RX6800 equivalent or similar for a fraction of the price with optimized games ... This year I'm gaming on Xbox for sure and a maybe another 2-3 I could manage ....

Ohhh nvm "
1999 to 2549 EUR" in europe what a joke ...with the HUGE difference I can buy myself all the games that come out in 5-10 years ...

+60% for "worst of crypto era" prices seems a bit steep to me, now for slightly more than half you get a 3090ti
the double video encoder is what interested me mostly to be honest I wonder if you can split in two different encodings ? so you could stream with 1, encode for youtube with another and leave the cpu for the game
my tv is only 4k 60hz (2018 oled) so I'm good for 4k

edit : I had 580-680-780-980-1080 (all gens in SLI !) then 1080ti-3090
prices are not as abusive as you think I remember paying like 450 decades ago until 840 for the 1080ti
add 100-200$/gen and you get 940-1040 for 2080 1040-1240 for 3080 and 1140-1440 for 4080
so of course 2300 is too much but 1500 for a 90 ? not an 80 ? is in line...you do get more performance you know ? and it's a luxury good like a sportscar not an everyday appliance
and if you stop comparing current, end of life, 2nd hand prices (nor fake MSRPs that don't exist anywhere else than north america anyway) there's not such a large raise in prices than you think (talking about base models here the variances between AIB is too wild but that's another problem)
edit : years ago I wanted to buy an Audi S3 you know how much more it is today for roughly the same specs ? +20'000  if you think everything is following TVs pricing life is going to be very disappointing

The 3090 was (officially) 1500 usd at release, while the 4090 is officially 1600 usd... in actuality i paid 13k dkk for my 3090 strix, and will end up paying 19k dkk for the 4090 strix. The 4090 is gonna be close to the advertised 80% faster at 8k.

The "4080's" are rip-offs, but not the 4090 - at least not looking at it 3090 vs 4090.

But the 3090 was already a ripoff.
Now nvidia is expanding the rip-off to the entire range.

And then there are the prices for Europe...

I'm interested to see performance difference compared to 3090 Ti in rasterization performance.

I just hope it can maintain 120+ FPS in 1440p 240Hz or 90+ FPS in 4K at maximum settings.

Easily, with DLSS 2/3 :D
