Recently, a leaked Nvidia slide has been published by VideoCardz, shedding light on the anticipated Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 desktop video card's specifications. The slide seems to validate earlier rumors and indicates an expected launch date of April 13 for the GeForce RTX 4070.

According to the exposed slide, the GeForce RTX 4070's total graphics power (TGP) is 200W, a decrease compared to the RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti with their respective TGPs of 220W and 290W. Furthermore, the slide suggests an average power consumption of 186W for the RTX 4070 during gaming, which is less than the reported 215W and 240W averages for the RTX 3070 and 3070 Ti. The leaked information also unveils that the GeForce RTX 4070 will boast 12GB of GDDR6X memory, offering a bandwidth of 504GB/s – in line with previous speculation. The video card will also include 36MB of L2 cache, a substantial increase from its predecessor's mere 4MB of L2 cache. However, the exact count of CUDA cores remains undisclosed in the slide. Prior rumors indicate that the AD104 GPU in the RTX 4070 will possess 5888 CUDA cores, the same as the RTX 3070.

While Nvidia has not officially announced the GeForce RTX 4070, speculation surrounding its release has been ongoing. The leaked slide implies a suggested retail price of $599 for the video card, equal to the RTX 3070 Ti and $100 more than the standard RTX 3070. Including VAT, this price translates to roughly 670 euros.

Update:

As the anticipated release of the GeForce RTX 4070 approaches, a recent Geekbench benchmark leak has verified some previously speculated specifications. The leaked information confirms that the graphics card will boast 5888 CUDA cores and 12 GB of 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory, aligning with prior expectations.

Although the benchmark scores themselves hold little significance, they do reveal that the RTX 4070 will deliver a performance boost of around 25-30% compared to its predecessor, the RTX 3070, while being approximately 19% less powerful than the RTX 4070 Ti. The RTX 4070 employs a scaled-down version of the AD104 GPU with 46 Streaming Multiprocessors, resulting in the aforementioned 5888 CUDA cores. Additionally, the card features 12 GB of 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory on a 192-bit memory interface, offering 504 GB/s of memory bandwidth, identical to that of the RTX 4070 Ti.

The leaked benchmark test was conducted on a system equipped with a Core i9-13900K processor and an ASRock Z790 Taichi Carrara motherboard, implying that the tester was likely a reviewer collecting data ahead of the April 12th review embargo.

Scheduled for an April 13th launch, the GeForce RTX 4070 will be priced at $599, a $200 (25%) reduction from the RTX 4070 Ti. This new release will succeed the RTX 3070, which originally debuted over two years ago.
