According to Valve's monthly report on the hardware and software present in users' PCs, May was another outstanding month for Nvidia's Ampere graphics cards, with the RTX 3080 and RTX 3070 being the strongest. AMD had reason to rejoice as well, as the Radeon RX 6800 XT was the newest RDNA 2 card to join the core GPU lineup.

Users of the RTX 3080 card climbed by 0.24 percent on Steam in May. The RTX 3070 comes in second with a +0.19 percent rise, while the RTX 3060 comes in fourth with a +0.18 percent gain. The Radeon RX 6800 XT joined the green team in the top ten cards list, with a 0.15 percent share. It now competes in the main draw alongside the other RDNA 2 cards, Radeon RX 6600, Radeon RX 6600 XT, Radeon RX 6700 XT, and Radeon RX 6900 XT, which are all seeing increased participation. The increase in the number of people using the latest Nvidia and AMD graphics cards demonstrates the industry's long-awaited return to near-normalcy. As availability improves and crypto mining becomes less appealing, cards are moving closer to the MSRP (introductory) pricing. With another 1.24 percent rise in users, AMD earned another portion of the pie, gradually but steadily closing the distance to Intel. However, the Blues retain a sizable lead thanks to their 67.19 percent share.

Windows 11 is only 0.41 percent away from being installed on one in every five PCs. More than half of the participants' PCs had 16 GB of RAM, and a quarter have video cards with 8 GB of VRAM.
