NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti available starting today

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 Ti available starting today

Nvidia officially presented the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti yesterday and the new 'Ampere' graphics card, however, they should be available starting today at prices beginning at 399 euros. The first independent test reports confirm the GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is on average faster than the GeForce RTX 2080 SUPER, which was released last year for 739 euros.

GeForce RTX 3060 Ti is based on the same graphics chip as the RTX 3070, the GA104, but is of course a bit slimmed down. The number of CUDA cores or shader units was reduced from 5888 to 4864 and the remaining GPU specifications are reduced accordingly, namely to 152 tensor cores, 38 raytracing cores, 152 texture units and 80 ROPs. At the same time, however, the memory configuration with 144 Gbit/s fast 8 GB GDDR6 on a 256 bit wide memory interface remains. In addition, the nominal power consumption is reduced from 220 to 200 watts.

You can read many reviews of course, here on Guru3D.

Top tier cards are so ridiculously overpriced, so I guess we should now be happy that this one is "only" $399 (which means probably 500+ when/if you can find one).

That Palit you tested today is priced at $600 equivalent in UK pre order on Overclockers, they can insert that where the sun don't shine. $399 is just under £300, so double the price, and no FE in UK it seems.
