NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN X Launches

NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN X Launches

Moments ago on Nvidia officially announced the GeForce GTX Titan X, the card is based on the Maxwell GM200 GPU with a whopping 3,072 shader cores tocking and tocking at 1 GHz.

The  28 nm GM200 silicon has 192 TMUs, 96 ROPs, and a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface tied to a massive 12 GB of memory. The product offers 7.1 TFLOP/s measured in single precision and has a 250W TDP rating, of its predecessor. The GTX TITAN will launch in reference-design only, aboard partners will not be allowed to release custom editions. The card will be prices US $999. TITAN X is available for sale starting at 2pm GMT/ 3pm CET tomorrow, 18th March, from etail partners.

Well kinda, over at the GDC there was a quickie graphics card announcement. The GeForce GTX TITAN-X will be based on Maxwell but with a massive transistor count. It would have a 12GB frame buffer, 3072 Shader processors and 8 billion transistors.

Ill probably grab 2 of these, same performance as 980 sli basically. Glad I waited.


Wait, where do you see it's the same performance as 980's in SLI? It's only 250w. I haven't seen any benchmarks but I doubt it's two 980's. It's probably only 35% faster then a single 980.

What? It lost to 970 SLI in first leaked benchmarks so 980's should be quite faster.

Lets wait HH review to discuss that.

Doesn't matter really, whenever anything new comes out, its already obsolete already, another one is always in the works.

Looking foward for the review, I am really looking at the 980 ti and the 390X at this moment and the price didn't even surprise me one bit, 999 BONES!!.

Obsolete compared to newer cards but not obsolete for gaming for a very longtime :)

That sucks, no custom version of this card is allowed? Ergh.

Was hoping to see a Gigabyte X3 windforce version, looks like not anytime soon.
