Last week we already reported that GeForce GTX 960 would not launch during CES, but on the 22nd of January 2015. Reports already indicated that shipment manifests showed 2 and 4 GB GDDR5 6GHz memory versions. The cards are already slowly listing though.
The biggest change (that nobody really expected) would be a 128-bit wide memory bus, which will seriously impact overall performance. The GTX 960 started listing here:
- Asus GTX960-DC2OC-2GD5-PRO
- Asus STRIX-GTX960-DC2OC-2GD5 / GTX960 / OC version
- GF GTX 960-2GD5. PCI-E3.0. 2GB 128-bit GDDR5. 1178/7010 MHz. DVI. HDMI. 3 x DP. Nvttm Fan TBC
- GF GTX 960-2GD5 OC. PCI-E3.0. 2GB 128-bit GDDR5. 1228/7010 MHz. DVI. HDMI. 3 x DP. Fan TBA
As you can see from the titles, these cards indeed will get a 128-bit interface and it is showing 2GB models only (right now). However there's a new rumor that 960 Ti, and 965 Ti are expected to be released this month as well. Then a quick note, there are charts showing on the web at the usual familiar websites, these charts originate from DG Lee over at IYD dot KR
We can confirm that the charts as always are fake. DG Lee has been active on our forums as well, and he simply takes guesstimated specs, then normalizes them and then makes a prognosis of the results. At best the fabricated chart can be called 'Guestimated' as the guy simply does not have the actual products.
