NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 SE
NVIDIA is preparing to release a GeForce GTX 660 SE according to some unrevealed sources over in China. This card reportedly competes with the Radeon HD 7850, it promises performance between the GeForce GTX 650 Ti and GeForce GTX 660. If released the card would have 768 shader cores, down from 960 on the GeForce GTX 660, and has a core clockspeed of 928MHz (vs 960MHz). Some benchmarks are posted after the break.
The boost clockspeed is also reduced from 1033MHz to 1006MHz, and the memory runs at 5800MHz (vs 6008MHz on the GTX 660).The memory bus is 192-bit and the card has one 6-pin PCIe power connector and DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort outputs.
A few 3D Mark 11 benchmarks were also run, showing an average performance improvement over the GTX 650 Ti of 20-25%, but slower than the GTX 660 by about 10-15%. This pits the card against the AMD HD 7850 in terms of performance, although the price isn't known, but should be in the range of $179-$199. Launch date is expected to be early Q1 2013.

I have just ordered a GTX 660 for our second system, at least they haven't decided to release a slightly faster model. Having said that, this year has ended up being extremely good for the consumer, we have very capable graphics cards in every price range. I don't remember it ever being this good.

Makes sense, the hd 7850 is in a really sweet spot for people short of a few extra bucks.
