The first leaked results for the GeForce GTX 1060 have leaked.Over at Xfastest they posted some 3DMark results. The card indeed seems to have 1280 shader processors and clocks in at 1506 MHz and a boost upwards to the 1.7 Ghz domain.
3DMark Firestrike Ultra scores 3014 points while the Radeon RX 480 was scoring around 2750 points. The GeForce GTX 1060 scores 11225 points in Firestrike Performance while the Radeon RX 480 was scoring 10800 points in several 3DMark (reference clocks).

No sli is a missed opportunity indeed. However, we know this is going to keep within spec, so, this will probably be the go-to card for the budget minded.

How is SLI ideal of something in this range when all the problems that come with multi-GPU are still there and you'd be better off just putting down for a 1070 or whatever?

This will probably reach 2.1ghz as well, if the price is around $250 I would say it's a steal. Problem is the sli support, this would've been ideal for sli
