NVIDIA GeForce GTS 450 (GF106) die photographed

Over at the Asian tech site Expreview a photo of the actual GeForce GTS 450 chip popped up.

The GF106 GPU certainly has a small die, around 15.2mm and 15.7mm and the chip is marked as GF106-250-KA-A1. According to the site, two other lower-end models will be also based on GF106 , the GTS 445 and GTS 440.

The performance of the GTS 450 is expected to be similar to the GeForce GTX 260, making the card serious competition to AMD's Radeon HD 5770.
