NVIDIA GA104-300 GPU spotted and photographed in validation process

A series of interesting photos have surfaced on the web. it involves the GPU for the GeForce RTX 3070, the NVIDIA GA104-300. The photos show a validation process where the GPUs are tested.



You can see many GA104 GPUs seen on a tray waiting for validation. The test program reveals that the GPUs are being validated to the 300 spec, which means GA104-300 GPU and GeForce RTX 3070 series, as posted on twitter.

This particular lines capacity output is ~1,000 per day. Inspections completed and started a few days ago. Validation results are 'excellent', 'qualified' & 'unqualified' the unqualified go back to be re-tested. Also - "tens of thousands" of GA102 coming through.

The GA104-300 GPU is a trimmed version of the GA104-400 (full chip) and has 5888 shader cores activated, 184 TMUs, and 96 ROPs. The graphics processor based on SAMSUNG 8nm node also features 46 RT cores and 184 Tensor cores. The GPU will be tied to a 256-bit memory bus which will power 8GB of GDDR6 memory for the RTX 3070 series. 

A 16 GB version would alro be released later on.
