NVIDIA does $5 million deal with Ubisoft

NVIDIA does $5 million deal with Ubisoft

It looks like NVIDIA spend $5 million to optimize Ubisoft's Assassin's Creed 5 and Watch Dogs. In fact AMD also is rumored to have invested a similar sum in Battlefield 4, exact details about these deals are unclear but word in cyberspace indicates this to be around $5 million to $8 million.

FUD Zilla reports the following on this:

We do know that Nvidia already has some Assassin’s creed demos with 4K textures that are supposed to look amazing as Nvidia agrees with AMD thinking that future of gaming is in 4K gaming. Our industry sources now tell us that it’s just AMD spending serious bucks on the Battlefield 4 deal. It turns out that the guys behind The way it’s meant to be played and Nvidia ISV (independent software vendor) relationship have spent about $5 million on their Ubisoft deal.

It involves two games, Assassins Creed 5 and Watch Dogs and our sources tell us that AMD was looking into a similar deal with Ubisoft, but it walked away simply as they believed that spending a similar or slightly higher amount on an AAA shooter like Battlefield 4 was a better deal – plus BF4 is the first game to support AMD’s new Mantle API, so it just made more sense.

Umm yeah people care about graphics esp when the have computers that can easily run them....why would we want bad graphics wwhen spending 500+ on gpu's makes alot sense lol

Of course optimization is needed but should be a neccesity..shouldnt havto have company competeing over this totaly dumb. :infinity:

Well i for one, like the contents of the game rather then the graphics being all fancy since that gets old fast.
Just wish Nv would dump a lot of cash for game optimizations with an idie more like CROTEAM.

I defiantly agree if a game sucks it sucks lol

It's Ubisoft. No amount of money is going to make their games not play like crap.

I have no issues here with the ubi games i play, anyways EA /DICE has outdone them all with 'buy windows 8 to play bf4 smooth'.
this is ok for you yeah?, bf4, premium, windows 8 ..
f that, dice please die, you too ea, ubi bring on watch dogs yeah!

How dare Microsoft make an OS that has better optimizations than its previous one. And shame on you DICE for taking advantage of those features.

I hate EA just at much as the next guy, but I am perfectly fine with their decision to use the Windows 8 optimizations.
