Nvidia's Xavier based SoC for automotive purposes will be released in 2018. Xavier is based on Volta architecture and intended for autonomous cars, drones and industrial robots. 

Nvidia's Jen-Hsun Huang mentioned this during his keynote at the GPU conference in China.Initial samples would be deliverd this year, delivery in 2018 and that means with a bit of luck you'll see the first hardware based on this SoC by 2019.

Xavier is a system-on-chip (SoC) and has a custom 8 core CPU architecture, and a new computer vision accelerator. The processor will deliver 20 TOPS (trillion operations per second) of performance, while consuming only 20 watts of power. As the brain of a self-driving car, Xavier is designed to be compliant with critical automotive standards, such as the ISO 26262 functional safety specification. Xavier has 7 billion transistors, and manufactured using 16nm FinFET process technology, a single Xavier AI processor will be able to replace today’s DRIVE PX 2 configured with dual mobile SoCs and dual discrete GPUs — at a fraction of the power consumption.

Xavier makes use of Tensor cores which are highly optimized for neural networks. If Xavier fins its way into the consumer market remains unknown.
