NVIDIA Delays RTX 3080 Founders Edition Reviews, and shares GeForce RTX 3070 launch date
NVIDIA posted an update on its website. The GeForce RTX 3080 founder reviews have been delayed for reasons not mentioned. Also NVIDIA now has posted a launch date for the GeForce RTX 3070.
The news got posted by Suroosh@NVIDIA and states the following:
Hey everyone - two updates for you today. First, GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition reviews (and all related technologies and games) will be on September 16th at 6 a.m. Pacific Time. Get ready for benchmarks! Second, we’re excited to announce that the GeForce RTX 3070 will be available on October 15th at 6 a.m. Pacific Time.

Maybe reviewers got their card late (covid) or it's Nvidia who want the reviews to go up last minute to help early sale because of the performance maybe not matching nvidia own slide....Who knows...
But by looking at the leaked result for 3080 from videocardz, I would say 2080ti owner who sold their card for 1k USD or up did well, the ones who sold their for 500 USD probably not......

If they price them right, I might be interested. If they continue with pricing like we saw with the 2000 series, then this release is far less intriguing.

Probably a lot of reviewers tested new cards the wrong way with wrong drivers and at incorrect star alignment and couldn't find the promised 2x uplift in performance so Nvidia decided to wait for Mars and Venus to get into the right position.
