NVIDIA Claims 'Grand Theft Auto 5' Coming To PC This Fall
NVIDIA has been spilling some beans lately. First they confirmed the existence of a Microsoft MSFT +0.52% Surface RT follow up, for which they’re handling processing duties (presumably a Tegra 4). Now, the company has given PC gamers a heaping helping of hope by flat-out stating that Rockstar Games’ Grand Theft Auto V will release for PC this fall.
The reveal occurred during an earnings call (transcribed by Seeking Alpha and spotted by Crave Online) hosted by Chris Evenden, NVIDIA’s Senior Director of Investor Relations. Evenden was outlining the changes in the PC market — changes which PC gamers are affecting — before he explained that the demographic is “preparing their systems for a strong roster of games coming this fall, including blockbuster franchises, such as Call of Duty: Ghosts, Grand Theft Auto V and Assassin’s Creed IV.”
You can rest assured that isn’t a random trio of titles. NVIDIA is working directly with Ubisoft developers to optimize Assassin’s Creed IV, and past Call of Duty partnerships exist between Activision and NVIDIA. Maybe we’ll see the game bundled with an existing GeForce GTX graphics card? Perhaps NVIDIA even has a hard release date for GTA V under their hat, but the “fall” window is still reassuring. The PS3 and Xbox 360 versions land on September 17, meaning PC users may not have to wait long for what they know will be the superior version of the game. In the past, Rockstar Games has been slow to adopt PC ports of their popular titles, and in some cases — like Red Dead Redemption — those ports never materialized. With such a high profile release, anticipated by a burgeoning PC gaming audience, Grand Theft Auto fans took to Change.org recently to petition Rockstar to release a PC version of GTA V. The petition currently has 314,000 signatures. If NVIDIA’s words ring true, that petition won’t be necessary. This information comes just days before Rockstar is poised to unveil the details of GTA V’s multiplayer component.

I don't care for them either. I have owned every game since GTA3 and I haven't finished any of them. I get maybe half-way through the game and get so bored of the missions that I uninstall it. Running around the city causing chaos is only fun for so long.

I think the games would be better if the missions between your bosses were more linked and if there was a difficulty setting. I'm probably about 2/3 done with playing GTA 4 and the missions are still too easy. I use a pistol 90% of the time and just headshot every enemy I come across.
It's amazing how much the fun value of causing chaos drops when you're not doing it with someone else there with you. When GTA 3 was first released, me and a friend would play that every day for about a year after school just messing around with cheats and it never got old (we would trade the controller as soon as one of us died, got busted, or froze the PS2). Then I got the game myself to play at home and I didn't go much beyond 1 hour of causing chaos because it just wasn't the same doing it alone.

Mmm, when i can trust it, i have some doubts, this was during an earning call ( with financials guys /girls from bank like UBS etc, and reporters from financial news sites. They strictly dont care if yes it will be released or not pc, console, all they want is see the cash... " There's many roster games who will be launch on fall ( who are console and pc version ) " .. Not sure he wanted to bring a difference between dates of console and pc launch.
Next Assassin Creed and Call of duty, ok Both will launch around this period, but then, thoses are 3 cross plateform games, it could have launch the 3 names together without really think to the pc date of release for GTA V.
( In general, GTA pc version launch a big time after console versions, because Rockstar finish first the console version, and then finish to work on the pc one with a mixed team. )
