Nvidia and partners launch GeForce GT 740 Series

Nvidia launched an entry level graphics card tagged under the name GeForce GT 740. This would be an entry level graphics card with 384 Shader cores, 32 TMUs, 16 ROPs, and a 128-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 1 GB of memory. Partner press-releases and photo's can be found after the break.

MSI Announces its GeForce GT 740 Series

MSI launches the GeForce GT 740 with two cards, the N740-2GD5, which features 2 GB of GDDR5 memory, and the N740-2GD3, which features 2 GB DDR3.These cards are based on the same board design, and offer NVIDIA-reference clock speeds of 1006 MHz core.

The N740-2GD5 features reference GDDR5 memory clocks of 5.00 GHz, while the N740-2GD3 offers 1782 MHz (DDR). Based on the 28 nm GK107 silicon, the GeForce GT 740 offers 384 CUDA cores, 32 TMUs, 16 ROPs, and a 128-bit wide memory interface.

Id rather use this then Intel IGP. Guess Im old school, but I still love a dedicated GPU not on cpu die if Im nont building a tiny mini ITX HTPC.

C`mon Nvidia stop releasing this low end cards...I sold my 780Ti and now I need a new gpu,the GTX 880.
