Nvidia AD102 Lovelace Available in 2023 with production starting in Summer 2022

Nvidia's rumored GPU line for the GeForce RTX 4000 series is codenamed Lovelace, news now indicates it will be released in Summer 2022. The top-of-the-line Lovelace model potentially requires even more energy than the RTX 3090. However, Lovelace might be replaced by Hopper before the launch takes place.

Greymon55, a well-known Twitter user, expresses himself in this way. According to his predictions, the mass manufacturing of Lovelace will begin as early as mid-2022 at the earliest possible date. In most cases, less than a year elapses between the time of tape-out and release. The AD102 which is used for the top-of-the-line model, will most likely not be ready for tape-out until 2022. If everything goes according to plan, the tape-out might take place as early as the end of this year.

Lovelace's mass production will would as such begin as early as mid-2022, with the first units shipping in 2023. So yeah presently it is speculated that Lovelace's mass manufacturing will begin in the summer of 2022.

Looks like a typo. Should probably have read " ... requires even more energy...". Changes the meaning though.

3090 is 100% more powerful than 2080 350w power draw vs 215w
3080 is around 70% faster than 2080 at 320w power

so 70% at 450-480w would be same as 2080->3080,a big performance jump at the cost of huge power consumption

How much 3080 is faster than a 2080 at the same power?

3090 performance at 240w, 10w for every GB. Am I asking too much?

What's with power consumption going backwards lately?
