Noctua Expands A-series with New 92, 80 and 40 mm Fans

Noctua Expands A-series with New 92, 80 and 40 mm Fans

Noctua introduced several new additions to its popular A-series of premium quality quiet fans. While the new NF-A9 and NF-A8 models succeed the award-winning NF-B9 and NF-R8, the NF-A4x10 5V is a dedicated 5V version of the renowned NF-A4x10.

All models feature Noctua's proprietary AAO (Advanced Acoustic Optimisation) frames as well as sophisticated aerodynamic design measures such as Flow Acceleration Channels and come with full 6 years manufacturers warranty. "The NF-R8 and NF-B9 have become well established references in the field of quiet 80 and 92mm fans and it took us almost 3 years of development to achieve consistently better efficiency", explains Mag. Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). "We're very happy with how the NF-A8 and NF-A9 turned out in the end, they really push the limits in their fields." Featuring all of Noctua's latest technologies such as Stepped Inlet Design, Inner Surface Microstructures and Flow Acceleration Channels, the NF-A9 and NF-A8 provide higher static pressure and an even better airflow/noise ratio than their much acclaimed predecessors, which will continue to be available via Noctua's redux line.

Whereas the NF-A8 will be available in PWM (2200rpm max.), FLX (2000/1650/1200rpm) and ULN (1400/1000rpm) variants, the NF-B9 will be available as PWM (2000rpm max.) and FLX (1600/1250/1050rpm) models.

"Feedback on our NF-A4x10 40mm fan has been excellent, yet both end users and industry clients have asked for a 5V version", says Mag. Roland Mossig (Noctua CEO). "Many devices such as network or storage solutions use 5 volt 40mm fans, so with the new NF-A4x10 5V, we now have a solution for these types of applications." With its 5V operating voltage, super-quiet 17.9dB(A) noise rating and the included OmniJoin adaptor set that makes it compatible with proprietary fan headers, the NF-A4x10 5V is ideal for replacing noisy or broken 5V 40mm fans.

Like all A-series fans, the new NF-A9, NF-A8 and NF-A4x10 models come with integrated anti-vibration pads and a wide range of accessories such as anti-vibration mounts, extension cables and Low-Noise Adaptors. Their superb running smoothness, reference-class SSO2 bearing and Noctua's trusted premium quality make them an elite choice for the highest demands.

Prices and availability
All the new models are currently shipping and will be available shortly. The manufacturer suggested retail prices are as follows:

  • NF-A9 (PWM / FLX): EUR 17.90 / USD 20.90
  • NF-A8 (PWM / FLX / ULN): EUR 15.90 / USD 17.90
  • NF-A4x10 5V: EUR 12.90 / USD 15.90

even the lil dinky one has rubber shock absorbers.
Noctua should start making cases, no brown ones though.
red, black, white and green for starters.

They would most likely make them brown, or grey like their new budget line. But if they did, you'd surely see top quality, and premium+ pricing :D

I think they should stick with Fans and Coolers.

Id rather see them expand to VGA Coolers.

Another thing I'd like to see in terms of performance, and price.
