Nextorage Japan is preparing to unveil its NE5N series of PCIe Gen 5 NVMe SSDs in early June. The company's website recently displayed a product page, and Newegg has made 2 TB and 1 TB models available for pre-order. Utilizing Phison's E26 PCIe Gen 5 controller, these SSDs boast read and write speeds of up to 10 GB/s, making them an ideal choice for PC enthusiasts.

In contrast to the company's PCIe Gen 4 SSD products tailored for PlayStation 5 consoles, the initial NE5N lineup features a substantial dual-formation heatsink with a heatpipe combination design, rendering them unsuitable for PS5 consoles. Gen 5 SSDs produce considerable heat, necessitating advanced cooling solutions from manufacturers. Nextorage Japan is working on future iterations of its NE5N NVMe M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 5 SSDs for compact PCs and laptops.

Newegg currently offers pre-orders for the NE5N 2 TB and 1 TB models at $499.99 and $249.99, respectively. These SSDs are designed with an optimized cooling structure for stable gameplay and include features such as SLC caching, advanced wear leveling, bad block management, thermal throttling, TRIM, S.M.A.R.T, over-provision, ECC, and end-to-end data path protection. The NE5N series comes with a five-year warranty from the date of purchase or until the maximum TBW (Total Bytes Written) is reached.

Price: $499.99 for the 2 TB model and $249.99 for the 1 TB model (excluding VAT)
