New AMD GPUs and APUs after March

That what she said .. ehm that would be the new CEO, Lisa Su. So AMD will release new GPUs and APUs in or after Q2 2015 "Going into the second quarter and the second half of the year with our new product launches, I think we feel very good about where we are positioned there," said Lisa Su, chief executive officer.

One of the new tech will be Carrizo, and it should be able to deliver the largest ever generational leap in performance-per-watt for mainstream APUs.

"We plan to introduce a strong 2015 product portfolio, punctuated by the launch of Carrizo in the second quarter. Consumer and commercial design win momentum for Carrizo continue to gain momentum because it will deliver the largest ever generational leap in performance per watt for our mainstream APUs.

So we are enthusiastic about our Carrizo launch that will take place in the second quarter. I think if you look at, you know, the improvements that will come with that, HSA is one of them. We’ll also have significantly improved performance in battery life in Carrizo."

Carrizo is based on the Bulldozer family of CPU cores, it will also feature an updated graphics core next, GCN with much better (up-to double) graphics performance whilst haveing a very low performance to watt ratio. Carrizo will be the first SOC to get full HSA support.
Carrizo would also get higher clock speeds than its predecessor APUs.

One the GPu side of things, AMD will likely Radeon Rx 300 series graphics processors. This remains speculation, but the Radeon R9 380 would be a 4,096 shader processor GCN 1.2 GPU, which is twice its predecessor. It would also feature 4 GB of stacked HBM (high-bandwidth memory). The mid-range chip currently called "Trinidad" will be a refresh product based on Curacao.

Where did this come from?
Higher IPC. Higher performance per watt. Lower total power consumption. And all this while increasing clocks?
Is AMD selling i5's now? J/K
But wonder about source.

Bulldozer just won't die, will it?

I just wish OEMs weren't treating AMD chips like they do nowadays. No wonder AMD can't get through with the message, when there are no laptops with the best Kaveri chips around and if they are, they are in some cheap disposable craptop.

But hey, I bet "partnership" with Intel pays better.

And worst of all, still no mention of Zen.

We won't see it until 2016 at the earliest. Given AMD's long history of delayed/late releases, it could be as late as 2017/2018....
