NETGEAR Introduces the World’s First WiFi 7 Router: The Nighthawk RS700S

NETGEAR has expanded its Nighthawk router range with the release of the first-ever Wi-Fi 7-based model. The Nighthawk RS700S offers exceptional speed with a maximum wireless bandwidth of 18.7 Gbps, which is more than twice as fast as its predecessors.

The new router leverages WiFi 7 technology to offer reduced latency, increased capacity, and better load distribution. The RS700S is designed with an upright configuration that optimizes the signal from the antennas, making it possible to connect up to 200 devices simultaneously within a range of 325 square meters. The tri-band setup provides a bandwidth of up to 1.4 Gbps over 2.4 GHz, followed by 5.8 Gbps over 5 GHz and up to 11.5 Gbps over 6 GHz. The device also features two 10GbE ports for internet and LAN, four GbE ports, and a single USB 3.0 type-a connector.

NETGEAR is offering a free year of Netgear Armor, a built-in security solution developed by Bitdefender, with the purchase of the RS700S. The company also promises additional features that will be added later, including mesh functionality and the ability to set up up to four separate networks, which can enhance performance.

The Nighthawk RS700S is set to launch in the US in the second quarter of this year, with an MSRP of $700. While its availability in Europe is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to cost around 790 euros, including VAT. In today's hyper-connected world, home internet needs have drastically changed, and more people are using faster multi-gig internet speeds to keep up with their growing number of connected devices. With the Nighthawk RS700S, users can enjoy next-gen speeds, reduced latency, and increased capacity to support data-intensive activities such as 4K/8K video streaming, online gaming, and video conferencing.

The NETGEAR Nighthawk RS700 WiFi 7 Router boasts 320MHz high-capacity channels, multi-link operation, 100x lower latency, and the ability to connect up to 200 devices. The router is also equipped with a 10GbE internet port that is compatible with any internet service provider and more wired ports to improve performance.
