MSI will offer a hexagonal MEG Treble SFF case in the future

In the design by MSI, there are three unique chambers: one for a mini-ITX motherboard and power supply, another for a graphics card up to 330mm in length, and the final chamber is for an optional specialized liquid cooling system.

On paper, this layout appears promising, and based on these early product images, MSI's overall implementation appears to be neat and tidy. We like the all-black look – though RGB lighting is almost certainly on the way – and the 280mm liquid cooling combined with well-ventilated panels implies there will be plenty capacity for high-end components in the future.

There is no word on the price or availability, but MSI is quick to point out the advantages of the small form factor. According to the company, the compact form factor has a "quite tiny footprint," yet it is "intended to accommodate as many mainstream components as possible." Upgrades are described as "effortless," and compatibility with a normal mini-ITX board should provide sufficient flexibility. Additionally, the integrated PCIe Gen 4.0 riser connection should ensure that no performance is sacrificed throughout the process. In addition to the USB-C port on the front panel, there looks to be a possibility to lay the chassis flat if this is something you want. This is a positive development. However, we believe the liquid cooler and graphics card will receive plenty of fresh air when the unit is put flat, even if we believe the cooling performance will be ideal when the unit is upright (an exhaust fan is located beneath the top cover).

We're interested to find out more. A second do-it-yourself desktop PC solution for compact form-factor desktop PCs is welcome.
