MSI unveils Spatium M570 Pro Breaching 12GB/sec (but with low RND 4K Performance)

CES 2023 marked the debut of MSI's PCIe 5.0 consumer SSDs. A pair of new solid-state drives (SSDs) called the Spatium M570 and Spatium M570 Pro have been introduced.

The second option is, as you'd expect, quicker. The Spatium M570 Pro relies on the Phison M26 memory controller and Micron's 232-layer 3D NAND Flash memory chips. A similar controller is used in the standard Spatium M570, although slower TLC memory is employed. Both drives were showcased by MSI at the exhibition. Their methods of cooling are unique. As stated in the official specs, the Pro variant is capable of 12 GB/s sequential read and 10+ GB/s sequential write. The normal version's read and write speeds are capped at 10GB/s because of TLC memory. Moreover, the firm demonstrated operational innovations. The 2-terabyte model of the Spatium M570 Pro, for example, achieved sequential read rates of 12324 MB/s and write speeds of 11814 MB/s on the CrystalDisk Mark benchmark. The Ryzen 9 7950X processor and MSI X670E Carbon motherboard were used in the testing system. This SSD lineup will come in 1 TB, 2 TB, and 4 TB flavours.

What draws our attention are the poor RND4K Q1T1 results; these don't look particularly promising.
