MSI Teases Radeon RX 5700 XT EVOKE Graphics Card

MSI Teases Radeon RX 5700 XT EVOKE Graphics Card

Custom NAVI Radeon RX 5700 (XT) graphics cards are getting closer and closer. There will be many brands and models. Of course, we've seen a thing or two from MSI, however, photos of the RX 5700 XT EVOKE we have not seen. MSI send us a teaser image for us to post.

The EVOKE is a new series from MSI which makes me think of the early Lightning model as it has a solid metal cooler shroud and two 90mm Torx fans. The coloring can only be described at the gold-metallic finish. The RX 5700 XT EVOKE will get  8-pin and 6-pin PCIe power connectors and connectivity wise it looks to become three DisplayPort outputs and one HDMI ports. Obviously, specifications are lacking, but historically AMD has been pushing and extra 50 MHz on the base clock. The card should become available on August 15th, our review sample obviously is already inbound.

MSI send teaser photos to a number of media (Guru3D, Igors Lab, Techpowerup, TweakTown). Put them all together and you'll get a more clear picture of what the card is going to look like.

It's gold?(not made of gold, just gold colored)

Hmmm, a distinctly beige kind of gold..... :D

Honestly though, it reminds me of computers from the 80s or 90s where the cases have discoloured over time (such as UV damage turning the plastic that awful yellow colour). Perhaps it'd help if it was polished rather than matte.

I don't care what it looks like if it can EVOKE a frame rate close to the 2070S.

AMD need to get the 5800XT or the 5900XT out soon. Preferably by the end of the year, I need something to get me off this GTX1080Ti and I am not buying into the RTX "hype". If you look closely at the performance of the 5700XT it is shockingly close to the 1080Ti already and its a much smaller die. Just imagine what we could have if AMD bite the bullet and designed a 300-350mm die, putting all that space towards shader/compute performance. It would be matching or even beating in certain games the 2080Ti. But for probably near half the cost. I predict, if a chip does exist, it will be around the $550-$600 range.
