MSI is ready to introduce their flagship Z690 Godlike motherboard, which will be one of the largest E-ATX motherboards we've ever seen.

The new Z690 Godlike is said to carry a lot of punch, with features such as a 3.5-inch LCD, maybe up to seven M.2 slots, and a 22-phase power design among its many features. The sheer size of the board is the most remarkable aspect of it all. We're told that the Z690 Godlike will measure 305x310mm, making it the largest motherboard we've seen in a long time. With the help of some PCB images obtained via WCCFtech, we can get a good idea of what MSI is doing with all of that additional space. A notable use of the additional room is the addition of up to seven M.2 slots, four of which are located between the PCIe slots, two of which are located by the chipset, and a single slot located by the back I/O port. If this is accurate, then the Godlike will feature the highest number of M.2 slots ever seen on a motherboard, rivaling the number of SATA 3 slots found on the majority of motherboards on the market.

We expect MSI will make use of all of the extra PCB real estate for features more than just the M.2 slots, such as additional physical buttons, additional power connections, fan slots, memory cooling, and other enhancements to the system. One feature that is mentioned in the Twitter post is a big 3.5-inch display that is making its way onto the board, so it's possible that this is yet another function that takes advantage of the board's massive size. While there is no official release or announcement date for the new MSI Z690 Godlike, with Alder Lake arriving in just a few days, we shouldn't have to wait long for additional information on this monster-sized motherboard.
