MSI releases MPG Z790I EDGE WIFI Mini-ITX motherboards based on Intel Z790

MSI unveiled three models, including the gaming Mini-ITX motherboard MPG Z790I EDGE WIFI for the retail arket, which uses the Intel Z790 chipset.

The "MPG Z790I EDGE WIFI" gaming Mini-ITX motherboard features an eye-catching white silver heat sink. The power supply is 105A SPS 10 + 1 + 1 phase, the memory is DDR5-8000 + x 2 (up to 64GB), the storage is M.2 (PCI Express 4.0 x 4) x 2, M.2 (PCI Express 3.0 x 4) x 1, SATA 3.0 x 4, and the expansion port is PCI Express 5.0 (x16). The network has Intel 2.5 Gigabit LAN and Intel Wi-Fi 6E. (Bluetooth 5.3 compatible).

Two regular sized versions are released as well.

The "PRO Z790-A WIFI" is a common model that uses the ATX form factor. The power circuit is 16 + 1 + 1 phase 80A SPS, the memory slot is DDR5-7200 + x 4 (up to 128 GB), the storage is M.2 (PCI Express 4.0 x 4) x 4, SATA 3.0 x 6, and the expansion slot is PCI Express 5.0 (x16) x 1, PCI Express 4.0 (x4/x16 form) x 1, PCI Express 3.0 (x1) x 1. The network has Intel 2.5 Gigabit LAN and Intel Wi-Fi 6E. (Bluetooth 5.3 compatible).


 Last but not least the "PRO Z790-P WIFI" is a standard model that supports the ATX form factor. The power circuit is 14 + 1 + 1 phase 55A SPS, the memory slot is DDR5-7000 + x 4 (up to 128 GB), the storage is M.2 (PCI Express 4.0 x 4) x 4, SATA 3.0 x 6, and the expansion slot is PCI Express 5.0 (x16) x 1, PCI Express 4.0 (x4/x16 form) x 1, PCI Express 3.0 (x1) x 1. The network has Intel 2.5 Gigabit LAN and Intel Wi-Fi 6E. (Bluetooth 5.3 compatible).

this is great but...

there is little difference between the price of x670 and z790

right now if someone tasked me with a 13th gen Intel ITX build i would recommend buying the rog strix B660 itx board at $200 and flashing the bios.
i've historically preferred Z and X mobos but now have to separate the gaming enthusiast and the OC enthusiast as the new DDR 5 boards all seem suitable for LN2 (by the old standards).
so many gamers not only don't OC, they don't want to as they've other fish to fry.
most OC'ers do game, but then again they're the ones with the sweet rigs, you know the ones that mobos cost as much as enthusiast gpus. but i also preach value when system building, so generally i want most of the ducats to go to the gpu unless i know the person is hardcore.
